Rich with poetic imagery and earthy wisdom, Jennifer Crook’s fifth critically acclaimed album with its universal themes and catchy radio-friendly chorus hooks, draws from a deep well of personal experience. 'The Broken Road Back Home' "one of the year's best albums" (Folking) was co-produced between lockdowns with multi-platinum recording engineer Stuart Bruce (Yes, Van Morrison, Art Garfunkel, Loreena McKennitt, to name a few) who also plays bass on the record. The core line-up includes Joe Coombs (Robert Vincent, Yola) on electric and slide guitars, Dan Moore (Percy Sledge, Beth Orton) on hammond and Robert Brian (Siouxie Sioux, Simple Minds) on drums. Guests include cellist Beth Porter, Canadian artist Brent Jones duets and Emm Gryner (David Bowie) on backing vocals. With the live nature of the recordings and Jennifer's beautiful clear voice, the album’s recent release on 12" vinyl proves to be the perfect format for her classic songwriting which is both timeless and right on time. “a very rich sound, particularly impressive” (The Arts Desk).

Jennifer's finely crafted albums have been praised by BBC Radio 2, the folk press and beyond. She has appeared live in session for Bob Harris and collaborations include Eddi Reader and Nashville’s Darrell Scott who duetted on Jennifer’s second album produced by Boo Hewerdine. Her crowd-funded album ’Carnforth Station’ produced by Stephen W Tayler (Kate Bush) at Peter Gabriel’s Real World Studios received stunning reviews and was included in The Telegraphs’ ‘Best Folk Albums 2014’. Jennifer was asked to contribute to BBC Radio 2's ‘Girl with Guitar’ presented by Cerys Matthews about the legendary Joni Mitchell. Jennifer ’s self-produced musical almanac (2017) inspired by the months and the seasons, featured a family of musical friends and collaborators including Eliza Carthy, Beth Porter (Spell Songs) and Charlie Jones (Robert Plant). In 2020 her atmospheric single ‘Sea Glass’ was described as ‘deeply poignant’ by Fatea Magazine and played on The Folk Show “I absolutely love that” (Mark Radcliffe, BBC Radio 2). The song written for Miranda Sykes, is on ‘Roots 2 - The Best of Show of Hands'.   

Jennifer has toured with Snow Patrol, Boo Hewerdine, Andy Davis (The Korgis), Declan O’Rourke, and many others, as well as playing festivals and headline tours with her own bands. An engaging performer, she has won the hearts of audiences across the UK and Canada.
